GHOSTWRITING

When you need someone else

to write, we've got your match.

People hire ghosts for all kinds of reasons! Some of those reasons include:

  • They are a publisher, not an author, and want to grow their catalog as a business without the hassle of royalty payments on a monthly basis.
  • English is not their first language and they want to publish in the English market.
  • They have a story idea but don't want to write it.
  • They just need help with a certain type of scene they struggle with, such as a sex scene or action scene.
  • They want to flesh out their book so it's longer, but don't know how or don't have the time.
  • They have a deadline and can't meet it, which can be caused by anything from poor time management to a life crisis such as a death in the family, natural disaster, or medical diagnosis.
Whatever your reason, we don't judge! We're here to help!

Our ghostwriters are some of the best in the business! Whether you need someone well versed in contemporary romance or someone who can write fast-paced thrillers, we have the ghostwriter for you. Feel free to check out our available ghostwriters below, and scroll to the bottom of the page to learn more about our process!

All of our Ghostwriters are organized alphabetically by their name, rather than by any other system.

BRIAR

Briar is the ghostwriting pen name of a USA Today Bestselling Author who doesn’t just write stories—she creates worlds. She loves sassy heroines, real emotions, and dialogue that snap, crackle, and pops. She writes both first and third person, past and present tense, and always makes sure there’s a happily ever after involved. Her preferred genres are contemporary romance (small-town is a specialty), paranormal romance, paranormal fantasy, and urban fantasy. She loves all settings of steam and makes sure to light those pages on fire (in a good way!). She looks forward to working with her clients to craft imaginative, thought provoking, heartstring tugging works of art.

DAHLIA

Dahlia's been making up stories and writing them down since childhood. Romance of all genres is her passion and she has over thirty-five books under her belt. She's easy to work with, and a quick, clean writer—and has ghost written for numerous clients with great success. She can move easily between first person present/past, and deep third subjective present/past. Great dialogue and chemistry and steamy sex scenes are her forte.

SENIOR GHOSTWRITERS

$0.05 /word

Our Senior ghosts are top talents with maximum reliability and speed who have been with us for over a year! We still recommend using a copy-editor or line editor, but major developmental edits are not needed with our senior ghosts, who excel at writing highly entertaining novels that will sell.

ALICE

Alice is the persona of a fun and zany USA Today Bestselling author. Her preferred genres are contemporary romance, paranormal romance, cozy mystery, and reverse harem. She looks forward to working with clients who are searching for a third person point of view, varying levels of steam, and have their plot ideas wrapped up with a pretty little bow.

JUSTINE

Justine believes that the heart of any addictive tale is its well-crafted characters. She loves anything deliciously tropey, especially if it involves a feisty heroine who forges her own destiny and falls for a hot boy with a cold heart along the way. Her favorite genres are urban/contemporary fantasy and paranormal romance for young and new adult audiences (though she's not opposed to writing about swoon-worthy aliens... especially if there are spaceships involved). Justine generally prefers first person past/present, but doesn't mind taking on third, and she loves a heartily developed plot. Bonus points for mood boards!

KASSIE

From flash fiction to plays to full-length books and back again, Kassie has been writing for several decades and there's nothing she loves more than telling a story. Though she's written in a variety of different genres, when she started writing novels for publication, she was drawn to romance, especially romantic comedies. First person is the most natural POV for her, because she really enjoys nailing the main character's voice and telling their story in their words, but she will also write in third person POV. From the heroine and hero to their family members, best friends, and sometimes even the guy who delivers their packages, Kassie relishes bringing the whole cast of characters and their relationships to life. Her favorite things to write are dialogue and humor. If you want your readers to laugh out loud on the way to happily ever after, she is your ghost.

MIRANDA

Miranda is a USA Today Best Selling author with over a dozen published novels. She loves writing stories with dangerous magic, impossible love, and dark souls. UF, PNR, and fantasy are where she does her best work, and she enjoys writing both YA and NA. She prefers starting with a well-developed outline.

ROWAN

Rowan is a USA Today bestselling author with a passion for the paranormal. Specializing in Urban Fantasy and Paranormal Romance, her stories are packed with magic and mayhem. She loves writing strong heroines with just the right amount of snark and has been known to root for the right villain. She looks forward to working with clients who prefer first person point of view in an open or closed world and a well-developed plot.

SOPHIA

I specialize in Sweet to Steamy Contemporary Romance, typically in an urban setting but I'm also willing and able to write Small Town Romance. My literary influences include Danielle Steele, Beverly Jenkins, Judy Blume, and Janet Evanovich - my cinematic influences include Penny Marshall, Gary Marshall, Rob Reiner, Ivan Reitman, and Harold Ramis. Honestly, that's just the tip of the iceberg! I'm not afraid of a little extra research, and am always open to collaborating with a client to create the best, most authentic story possible. I'm looking to dive into new subgenres, including LGBTQ+ couples of all kinds, Polyamory, characters of all genders and body types, and I'd also love to work on more stories with Latinx and POC representation.

PREMIUM GHOSTWRITERS

$0.04 /word

Our Premium ghosts aren’t new to writing but are new to working for us! They provide similar quality to our Senior ghosts, but are still offering launch prices on their services while they build up their clientele. Major developmental edits are not needed with our premium ghosts, but a second set of eyes from a line editor is a safe bet.

ASHLEY

Ashley is the author of over ten young adult and new adult urban fantasy and portal fantasy novels. She enjoys writing urban fantasy, portal fantasy, paranormal romance, romantic fantasy, and even some romantic sci-fi. Most of her stories have romance in them, but she's happy to leave that out if it's not your thing. She likes to write in first person past tense or first person present tense. Although her books mostly feature younger characters, Ashley is open to writing adult novels too. She looks forward to working with clients who prefer a first person POV (single or multiple), modern and sassy heroines, and lots of action and adventure in their novels. She appreciates a well-developed outline. Even better if character sheets are included!

DAWN

Dawn is the ghostwriter pen name of a BIPOC author who’s been writing stories since childhood. As a hardcore whale reader, she’s familiar with all the popular tropes and best seller story elements in many genres. Her first love will always be Fantasy which includes nearly any subgenre (particularly UF and Epic), but she is equally knowledgeable in PNR, Science Fiction and Romance. Though she is drawn most to YA/NA first person and third person limited, she also has experience writing Adult and multi POV. Her biggest goal as an author is to create characters that will resonate with readers and write memorable, exciting stories that will surprise and satisfy even the pickiest of readers.

JENESIS

Jenesis is a USA Today Bestselling Author of over ten Young Adult fantasy novels. She prefers to work in first person, and powerful females with magic are her favorite kind to write. Anything Young Adult is in her wheelhouse, although she prefers UF, fantasy, or PNR. Outlines are great, but she’s not afraid of a good brainstorm to help get the ball rolling.

JILLIAN

Jillian is a lover of all things: from passionate love triangles involving rival shifters, or a sexy forbidden affair with the boss, to the challenges of teen drama. She'll take it on! She's the kind of writer who isn't afraid to experiment, and has an equal love of both 3rd person and 1st. Brainstorming is one of her favorite pastimes along with coming up with juicy plot twists that no one will see coming.

MARGUERITE

Marguerite is a USA Today bestselling author under her other pen name who has been writing romance professionally since 2005. She's been traditionally published and especially loves to write paranormal romance with strong heroines and heroes, such as merman and vampires. Hamilton, and Connie Mason.

MARIGOLD

Marigold is the ghost name of a best-selling author who has been in the publishing industry for nearly a decade. Working in front of the scenes and behind, she has a solid understanding of writing that captures the reader’s attention and keeps them turning the page. While she’s not the best choice for mystery or thrillers, she has experience in many other genres. Her strengths lie in romance (all heat levels), paranormal, and fantasy. She’s a sucker for wish-fulfillment books (rock stars, celebrities, royalty) and books with contemporary tropes with a paranormal twist (brother’s werewolf best friend, mafia vampire, fae biker club).

NATALIE

Natalie is an Amazon Bestselling author who loves sci-fi, fantasy, thriller, and young adult stories. She specializes in providing captivating plots and in helping turn casual readers into story addicts. An avid reader and language enthusiast, Natalie is constantly working to perfect her storytelling skills and is ready to help you craft your next bestseller!

RAINE

Raine is a USA Today bestselling author who has been writing in some capacity her whole life. Having written everything from service industry blog posts to full-length novels, she is prepared to write first or third person, past or present tense. Raine unabashedly enjoys morally gray characters and enemies-to-lovers tropes. Here's looking at you Rhysand and the Shadow King. Her strengths are paranormal romance, steamy contemporary (especially with bad boys), wild dystopian worlds, and fantasy for all ages.

PARTIAL GHOSTWRITES

$0.03-$0.06 /word

Partial Ghostwrites are for clients who like to write their own books, but still need help getting the words on the page, whether it's due to language barriers, deadlines, or needing help fleshing out their story. Below, you can learn about the types of partial ghosting we offer.

HATE WRITING SEX SCENES?

Do you hate writing sex scenes, but love having them in your books? Our ghostwriters offer ghostwritten scenes for SEX SCENES ONLY.

Our rate for this exclusive premium service is $0.08 per word and you must book a minimum of 1000 words, though we suggest the ideal length of a steamy scene is 2000-4000 words.

We will send you a form to fill out to share info about your story, characters, and desired heat level (from steamy to erotic) so we can get the scene just right for you. You'll also have the freedom to revise and fine tune whatever is sent to you 🙂

ENGLISH AS SECOND LANGUAGE?

If you need help polishing your English to make it sound like your native tongue, this service is for you. It combines editing with ghostwriting while retaining your voice to ensure the highest quality final product. The rate for this service is $0.03 per word.

NEED A HIGHER WORD COUNT

Your manuscript is done, but it came in way under the word count you'd hoped for. You know something is missing, but you can't figure out what. Or you know exactly what's missing, but don't have the time, know-how, or desire to fix it. One thing you know for certain: you don't want fluff. You want every word added to make the book better, not just longer.

That's where our Fleshing Out Service comes into play. You will pay 0.01 per word for the initial read, during which time the ghost will make notes on how/where to flesh out your story. These notes will be sent to you with an estimated potential word count that can be added. You can then either add those words yourself, or hire our ghost for $0.05 per word to add them for you.

How Does It Work?

In order to serve you quickly, efficiently, and at the highest standard, we have developed a process that ensures clarity and quality when using our ghostwriters. This allows us to do the best work for you while being reasonable toward our amazing team of ghosts! We share that process with you here for the sake of transparency and also so you can go into the ghostwriting relationship prepared and informed! Let's dive in!

Step One: Select a Ghost.
To select a ghost, you can either read samples provided here on our site (free) or purchase a custom sample at the usual rate. Sometimes publishers like to do this as an "audition" before committing to having that author write a complete novel or series. With your ghost selected, you can now make payment for your project or for the first block of words you wish to purchase.

Step Two: Provide Materials.
Once you have selected a ghost, you will need to provide them with information necessary to completing their job. Some things you might want to provide include: character profiles, genre details, notes on how dark or light or sweet or sexy you want the novel to be, etc. Additionally, it is required  that you provide a chapter-by-chapter outline, with each chapter summary including at least a paragraph of events. Your chapter-by-chapter outline must be approved by the ghost before the project begins. If you continually turn in incomplete outlines, in fairness to our ghosts, we will ask you hire someone on our team to either coach you through your outline or fix your outline for you. If you would like an outline created for you, we do offer that a separate service. If you want the outliner and ghost to be the same person, that is something you need to let us know during step one, as that may limit the options available as not all of our ghosts are plotters as well. If you're writing a series, we also recommend providing a Series Arc. Again, this is something we can do for you as a separate service.

Step Three: The Ghosting Process.
Once your project has begun, you can expect new words to be added to your project on a weekly basis, barring any unforeseen circumstances. While you pay in advance for blocks of words, our ghosts are only paid for words completed. This means if you cancel the project or if for any reason your project cannot be delivered or if your project completes at a lower word count than anticipated, you can be refunded for all words not written. Alternatively, we can apply your word balance toward future projects. However, keep in mind that, as part of our terms of service and agreement, we cannot refund for words that have already been written.

Step Four: Additional Services.
In order to provide the best results, if you are combining services, we recommend them in this order:
- Concept
- Series Titles and Book Titles
- Series Arc
- Outline, Ghost Novel, Blurb, Outline, Ghost Novel, Blurb, etc.
If you require anything out of order, there may be additional fees if those items need to be revisited later to be coherent to the end result of the project or due to it taking longer to complete after the fact. We recommend to work on these items in the order they are listed to ensure the lowest total project cost.

Other Considerations
- Projects are completed within 10% of your word count goal. If the ghost hits under your goal, you will be refunded for words not completed. Likewise, you will need to budget for the 10% overage as you will be invoiced for the overage if necessary. 80% of the time, our ghosts write under your goal, but sometimes more is necessary to finish the story with the depth it deserves.
- Our ghosts are happy to sign an NDA if you provide one.
- You will be assigned a project manager; we do not have you in direct contact with ghosts as our experience has taught us that slows them down when they need to be focused on writing.
- Our invoices include a 5% invoicing fee that covers overhead to run your project, including paying your project manager. There are no other fees associated with having a project manager.
- Your payment covers the draft of your novel. Any major changes due to ghostwriter error can be fixed for free. Changes requested due to changing your mind about what you want or not having expressed wanting something before the process began are not included but can be purchased. You are also free to make any changes to the novel once it's provided to you. If you would like the ghost to review your changes after the fact, you can hire them at an hourly rate to do so.
- Our ghosts are writers, not editors! Depending on what type of ghost you want, we recommend hiring an editor or a proofreader when your project is done. If you would like the ghost to apply those edits/revisions once they come in, you can hire them at an hourly rate to apply the changes.

Turnaround Times and Rush Orders
- Turn around time is six weeks. If we can get you your project sooner, we will, but we cannot guarantee a faster turn around time unless you are booked in with a rush fee.
- If your project of 90,000 words or less is not turned in within 6 weeks, you will receive your choice of 20% credit back or a free marketing package. Projects are based on payments, so if you only purchase 20,000 words at a time, each 20,000 words is allowed a 6 week turn around time. If you ask for pauses in work or additional work to be done (revisions, for example) those times are not counted toward the six-week timetable.
- If you would like your project delivered faster, we offer the following rush fees: 4 Week Turnaround: 1.25x usual rate. 2 Week Turnaround: 1.5x usual rate. 1 Week Turnaround: 2x usual rate. All rush projects must also be pre-approved for availability first. Please note we do not put other projects on hold to do a rush order. In order to do these rush orders, our ghosts take time from their personal lives to work extra hours, which is the only way to keep it fair to their other clients. Because they must do this, it's only fair to them to be paid extra for use of their time.
- You will not be charged a rush fee for a project finished earlier than planned by our ghosts. The rush fees are only when you require us to guarantee a shorter turnaround time.
